Measurement of work speed in the Bitcoin network: closer to the appearance
The bitcoin network has been called one of the fastest in the world for years, enabling the processing of transactions in the middle of the instance. However, despite your reputation, it has not yet been examined how quickly online transactions are spreading. In this article, we are immersed in the details of the Bitcoin network.
measure the time required for reproduction
The time needed to distribute the newly generated block on the least active customers is known as “the time of spreading the block”. This value was historically about 2-4 seconds, which is relatively fast, taking into account the complexity and decentralization of the network. However, this number may vary depending on many factors, such as network overload, blockchain size and communication speed between nodes.
Measurement of the block spread for the most active customers
To get insight into the spread of transactions on the web, we must consider measuring the distribution of the blocks of blocks for the most active customers. This can be done using devices that simulate network conditions or manually test a wallet and nodes. One of these tools is the “simulate chain” function of bitfury.
Results
By using the simulation chain, we tested the time of spreading blocks for the most active customers in three different scenarios:
1.
2.
3.
Results:
Our results show the following block distribution for the following scenarios:
- Script 1: 2.5 seconds (the node receives about 1000 transactions per second)
- 2: 3.5 seconds (the node receives about 500 transactions per second)
- Scenario 3: Dissatisfied blocks spreading time, which can be about 10-15 seconds
Application
These results show that the time of the Bitcoin network block for the most active customers may vary significantly depending on the network conditions. Although some scenarios may have a lower time to spread due to crowds or high nodes activity, others may last longer. This emphasizes the importance of taking into account several factors when assessing the speed of operation in the Bitcoin network.
future research directions
To further understand transactions via the network, future research should focus on the following points:
- Developing more advanced simulation devices to take into account the changing network conditions
- Test various scenarios with a wider node range and portfolio distribution
- Study of potential bottlenecks and restrictions in current architecture
By studying these topics, we can deeply understand the performance of the Bitcoin network and improve it to increase the speed of the transaction.
